musipedia - Melody Search Engine
(E?)(L?) http://www.musipedia.org/
Dieser Suchmaschine kann man etwas pfeifen und sie sucht den Titel des entsprechenden Liedes.
Inspired by, but not affiliated with Wikipedia, we are building a searchable, editable, and expandable collection of tunes, melodies, and musical themes.
Every entry can be edited by anybody. An entry can contain a bit of sheet music, a MIDI file, textual information about the work and the composer, and last but not least the Parsons Code, a rough description of the melodic contour, to make the encyclopedia searchable by melody.
Musipedia uses the "Melodyhound" melody search engine. You can find and identify a tune even if the melody is all you know. You can whistle or sing it to the computer or directly use the Parsons code. To "name that tune", you don't need to know the key signature, exact rhythm, or intervals.

thesmokinggun - Backstage Pass - Was erwarten Stars auf Ihren Tourneen
(E?)(L?) http://www.thesmokinggun.com/backstagetour/
Our backstage collection now covers a whopping 163 acts - everyone from Frank Sinatra and the Rolling Stones to Kenny G and KC & the Sunshine Band.
The contract rider includes specifications on stage design, sound systems, lighting rigs, as well as an artist's wish list - from transportation and billing to dressing room accommodations and meals. In some cases, a promoter will refuse a demand (crossing out the request on the document), though stars usually get what they want, whether it's clean boxer shorts (Jane's Addiction), prune juice (Kansas), or an arrangement of tulips, roses, gardenias, and lilies (Janet Jackson).
Am 08.08.2004 waren folgende Stars mit ihren Allόren vertreten:
98 Degrees | A Tribe Called Quest | Aerosmith | Alabama | Alan Jackson | Amy Grant | Aretha Franklin | B.B. Written by musicians, Jazz:
The Rough Guide contains more than 1,600 biographies, from Ahmed Abdul-Malik to Axel Zwingenberger. In addition to profiling a broad spectrum of jazz musicians (both famous and lesser-known composers and performers), it clarifies crucial jazz issues, gives historical perspective, and also serves as a buyer's guide, with discographies and pithy reviews of representative recordings. The Guide's alphabetical, encyclopaedic organisation makes it useful as a dependable jazz reference, and it's wonderfully browsable too, illustrated with fine classic black-and-white photographs (of performers such as Jelly Roll Morton and his Red Hot Peppers)and beautifully written. A good starter text for jazz neophytes, the CD suggestions are a great help toward custom-building your jazz library. There's also a fine glossary that explains a cappella and acid jazz, Afro-Latin, airshot, and atonality. It's a safe source of education if you're ignorant about ballads, bebop, or B-flat. It's useful for learning about major jazz styles (Chicago, Dixieland, and dirty, Kansas City, ragtime, and scat), plus musical concepts such as harmony, improvisation, and tempo. Concise, accessible, and addictive and readable, Jazz: The Rough Guide is a great introduction to the world of jazz.
